"It" words have been around for a while. Some "it" words of the past are: awesome; absolutely; fantastic; springboard; platform; venue; segue and a slew of others.

"Just Sayin"

Stop it...just stop it.
You want to make a comment but don't want to stand behind it.
So, you go non-committal and say "Just saying".

I think if I hear it again I am gonna throw puppy off a cliff.....

ok

maybe not a puppy
but a cat.

(damn cat ranchers)

"..with that said/with that being said..."

"...at the end of the day..."

When one can no longer contribute to a dialogue, "...it'll be interesting to see what happens." That's like, probably nit-picky."

I've probably used all on this list, but use these two most frequently. The former in written form; emails and forums (fora?) and the latter more spoken.

I find the former useful only with two or more people. The examples I can think of always include me clarifying something someone else said and using the 'with that being said' segue to delineate his thoughts from my thoughts on the matter. I think that is the original (most) correct usage of the phrase and see it misused all the time. At that point, it's irritating like too, to, and two or there, their, and they're.

I use this when I'm done debating/arguing/explaining something. When it becomes apparent that you're never going to get through, it's a more polite way out than calling them an idiot.

I think I know who that is...I went to USAF pilot training with him! (More likely, just one of the many).

One of the advertisers on APC shows a young lady wearing a T-shirt which reads:

"Overuse of the word 'Literally' figuratively drives me insane!!"

With all due respect, I find it ironic that people are literally up in arms about this. I mean, really? It is what it is people, so.. Like, get a life, or something.
At the end of the day, you know, you can write paragraphs without really saying anything, and that's saying something.

Just Saying...

If you are flying with someone else, you absolutely HAVE to start every phrase and conversation with "AND" when they do this...It's doubly fun when you are an instructor simulating a student, cause then you can just go crazy with it...
