How trite and easy. Except, he (and his fellow SEAL team members) have served in a manner and ways far "above and beyond" the call of duty...well above. Furthermore, given what he had already done, don't you think a guy could "burn out"?? Seems pretty clear you and a lot of the other "people" commenting in this thread HAVEN'T even bothered to read the entire article (or, if you did, your reading retention sucks).
"I seriously doubt"..."I'll bet"...
Want some fact? You don't know what you're talking about. PERIOD. END.

Of course these guys served above and beyond. There's no question. Plenty of guys have gotten burned out doing much less than these special operators, so yeah, I can understand them getting burned out.
I read the whole article. In addition to absolute respect for these gentlemen, I came away from the article with a question. After such sacrifice, why didn't he finish his 20 so he'd have something, just a little, to show for it? Getting burned out doesn't mean you have to bail out completely. Plenty of pilots who get burned out leave active duty and go to the Guard or Reserves. Others leave the cockpit and stay on active duty in another role.
I know how the military assignment system works. I've been through it a few times. The idea that this person, with all his capabilities, skills and experience couldn't find a non-combat billet to finish out his last 4 years is ludicrous.
No one can realistically equate the service of this SEAL with flying a C-5. However, my point was that there isn't any system in place that CAN make that differentiation. We all use the same pay scales and if you want a retirement and medical benefits, you have to serve your 20. That ain't new info.

So our committing immoral deaths are better than his killings? Why? Our torture is good torture because its freedom based? Because we like us and don't like him? I prefer my tax money be used for non evil. Bombing people into democracy isn't my idea of democracy....

No he isn't wound tight... you just lack understanding and perhaps compassion... even for your own.....
The fact remains 'the shooter' should be able to get out of the MIL at anytime and be able to function in our society.... everyone one should... the MIL and combat *^%$ people up... nothing new... so are people just fodder or do we actually give a sh....t..... you don't.

Now correct me if I am wrong, but don't all Americans have health care now?
That was the promise wasn't it?
Tax money for evil? We don't really have the bandwidth to cover all the examples and most of them have nothing to do with war.

I have respect for what him and his fellow SEALs have accomplished. Just because you do some great things in the past, doesn't mean you get to do whatever you wish and expect to hold that same respect.
Pretty much. That's what so many before him have done.
But please enlighten us, so we can truly understand his situation.
Everything is conditional...
Never.

How many died and were tortured under Saddam? How many children died as a result of his PROVEN use of WMD's against the Kurds there?
Actually, it was proven that Saddam had WMDs, at least at one time. The fact that you believe it to be a lie simply demonstrates how brainwashed and uninformed you truly are.
