I believe that was the case, or at least a part of the land. Other "scandal" involved not only the construction timeline, but the particular contractors that business was given to for concrete, wiring, etc. Much of the work had to be done TWICE because the first time was poor quality. Of note as well, the city annexed I-70 through other cities, meaning the city of Denver police patrol it. When the city first got the photo radar vans, they would set them up by the freeway overpass pillars. I can't remember the stats, but when that happened it was somewhere around 60-80 speeders A MINUTE would get the pic taken and the fine sent. It was something like only 50% of those would get paid. Even with that, the end result was the city was turning a HUGE profit way before the city even said they'd break even on the millions spent on the technology It's since been changed to where the city can't set them up on freeways anymore. As far as Denver being the most corrupt, I'd say the New Orleans and Chicago far surpass.

Getting back on track, I'd agree with the other guy about JFK. When DelCon was in the corner by 31L, waiting on the int'l push bank at 5pm, THEN doing the counter clockwise double wrap around the opposite side of the airport could take a long time.

Yep, and I'm still trying to get the stench of the A concourse employee cafeteria out of my mind! The first flight into DIA was winter of '95, overnight, all of the airline GSE did the conga line down I-70 from DEN to DIA and that was the end of airline ops at Stapleton. I think the GSE equipment has the record for the longest taxi.

How about when someone screws up the taxi sequence?

You've heard it before, but some things never get old...

Funny ATC - A tough day at JFK Tower - YouTube

"Oh, ya can't jus do...ya can't jus do....awright...see, this takes so much energy guys..."

Given that some folks get paid by the hour, I'm surprised no one does this on purpose. Or do they?

During SWAP at JFK, taxied from the KK to A clockwise to a left turn on E left turn onto B. All the way down B, U, right turn onto Runway 13L. Back down Runway 13L to exit at ZA for a takeoff onto Runway 22R. It only took 4 hours, was like number 50 for takeoff, seriously.

Not the longest, but it sure made for a very very long night.

I bet the pax were going bananas and the drink carts were empty. I can't imagine the line for the bathrooms at cruise! Ouch.
