Default Luggage Works Flight Kit

2 weeks ago I bought a brand new LW Leather Flight Kit, the nice $200 version, figuring it would last me a while.

It started fraying and coming apart on the inside after ONE WEEK of use, and I wasn't even beating the thing up!

I traded it in today for another one, hoping it's just a bad batch or something like that.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with LW products? I don't want to splurge on anything more expensive because my airline is likely going EFB within the next few months. Can anyone recommend the ballistic nylon bags or any other brands out there?

Thanks

Default Luggage Works Flight Kit

I had a problem with one of the latches after I had mine for about a month..the whole casing that holds the combo lock came off..took it back to the place I bought it and they gave me a new one..even threw in another sticker that I had on the old one

Default Solo Brand Luggage Catalog case

I have had 2 of the Solo Catalog cases. The first one lasted me about 5 years and the second one isn't quite as solidly made, but still pretty acceptable for the $50 I paid for it. I have 4 jepp binders, a trip binder, my headsets, flashlight and usually a water bottle in there. It's ballistic nylon so it has some give to it as well. I was in your situation of not wanting to spend a lot right before we went to EFB's/ship sets

Here's a google search link to help. I think it came up as $46 or so. Good luck!

Default crew gear ballistic nylon

I have a crew gear ballistic nylon kit bag. It is holding up well after 2 years of service. I believe it was about $100.
