Default Homeland tv series.....really?

I've been a fan of the show and thought it was pretty good for the first season. This season has had a few really dumb plot holes that have got me wondering if I'll be stopping by for season 3 (if there is one). Spoiler alert on these!!

The first was the terrorist plan to move their bomb-maker to a safe house. Hmmm.... who should we send? Oh, yeah, let's send the former marine, now US congressman we spent 8 years turning to our cause who might have a shot at the VP office. Oh, by the way, he's got a high visibility fund raising event later that night after he runs this little errand. If he misses it, no biggie - he's just standing up the current VP, his wife and a bunch of high rollers. He's either a high level terrorist plant in the US government or he's a taxi driver... which is it?

Next was after the "tailor" bomb-maker is no longer around. The CIA/FBI watch his shop for a while and no one comes or goes. They finally decide to have a look in the shop. Do they sneak in and check it out quietly to avoid possible alerting the terrorist network that someone's been talking? Nope. They show up in full force, screeching tires and lights flashing to investigate the place. Any chance the bad guys might have been watching the place too? Probably pretty obvious now that someone's onto them when 20 agents storm their dead bomb-maker's shop.

Then there's the recent final search for Nazir in the warehouse. Carrie and the one FBI tac-team agent split off from the other 3 guys all armed with assault weapons. How? They just walk slower, having a little chat and decide to go off on their own. Do those mic things by their mouths work? Maybe we keep the heavily armed tac-team together? Just a thought. I wonder if something bad is going to happen to the unarmed, semi-psychotic CIA agent who was a prisoner of the terrorist mastermind less than 24 hours ago and who hasn't slept in at least 2 days and the single FBI team member? Yup.
Wow. I didn't see that coming at all .

There’s more but those are the biggies that are bugging me. Anyone else?

I look forward to watching this every week. You're right though, there's times when it seems too much goes wrong..and unnecessarily. Almost like watching a bad teen-horror movie.

I really like the premise of this series. It does seem however, that there's just not enough material to keep it going much longer before they have to jump the shark.

And as for another Showtime series, Dexter is getting a little boring too.
