Introduce yourself
#4405
My name is Andy Downs and I have been in commercial aviation for over 20 years. I have owned and operated 135 and 121 operations as well as ground handling operations for scheduled cargo operators.
I am currently producing a documentary film about my father's hijacking and death in 1971. He was the first captain killed in a US hijacking Oct 4, 1971 flying a Hawk Commander from BNA to JAX.
I lecture across the country about PIC rights and the lack of knowledge that law enforcement has in handling aviation crisis situations.
My recent article in AVSEC International Magazine is called "Pilots Not In Command"
