Very briefly, in response to a thread in pilot-health about non alcoholic beer, one reply stated that beer is diuretic because of the alcohol. This is not true and I googled a report of an experiment on rats which confirmed that other constituents of beer are far more diuretic than the alcohol.
I didn't save the link but from personal observation I can confirm that non alcoholic beer is highly diuretic. A mere 330 ml consumed late at night has sufficient diuretic properties to raise me from my slumbers. A potent diuretic might not be a suitable drink to take before a busy flight.
As I am a beekeeper, not a pilot, I will now leave you all in peace
