Default Hello

Hi, I am a B-777 FO at a cargo outfit. Love the plane, glad to be flying airplanes that are not as old as me. I love dogs too. Especially Golden Retrievers. I hope to post about dogs and flying as we go along.

Hello everyone. My first post here.
I am A320 captain in South East Asia with 9000 total time. Looking for opportunities in the US as I want to live there. Still at early stage of the research about how many hoops I have to jump through. No FAA ATP yet. Thank you for letting me in.

Do you have a work visa for working in the US, or are you a Green Card holder or a US citizen? That is the most difficult hoop to jump through. Research with the US State Department or other organizations that can help you in that area.

Default Second Career

Hello! My name is Sean, I got my Private Pilot's license last year and just finished my Instrument Rating a few weeks ago. I am now working on my commercial rating. I have been in the fire service for 25 years and am 45 years old. Hoping to get up to CFI and ME within the next few years. I will be totally done and retired from the fire department in about 3 years (at age 48) and would appreciate any input or suggestions from you experts towards my future piloting career!

Thanks.

Default Aviator Collector

I'm not a pilot, although my mother was a pilot. But I collect historical and political memorabilia, including aviation. I own an Air Force One manual from LBJ's Lockheed Jetstar, which is now on display at his ranch. I am a buyer - nothing I have is for sale. The manual is my avitar. But the reason I joined this forum is to ask about a letter on eBay. It placed William Durand on the Morrow Board and is written by Calvin Collidge. Calvin Coolidge isn't very collectible, but the Morrow Board essentially created the US Army Air Corps. WHich is very cool to me because I served in the Army and my son is in the Air Force. But my question is, is anyone aware of any other letters appointing Morrow Board members? Whether sold at auction or in any museum? Thanks in advance for any responses. Here's a link to the letter on eBay:

***the forum rules indicate no attachments, but does not mention any linking to websites. I hope I haven't borken the rules. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Default Citation XLS+

Hi Folks,
I’m an ATP pilot with over 26,000 hours. Currently flying a Cessna Citation XLS+ for a company. I’ve been flying since 1981 in high school. I solo’d in a Grumman Trainer, AA-1A and wrapped up my private in a C-172. Started pre-Med…didn’t stick so I returned to flight training and completed IFR, Commercial and CFIAI in early 1983. I’ve done well over the years and flew the Beechcraft Starship for 2489 hours over several years as well as the bullet proof Beechjet 400A. I added the King Air 350 and the Premier before those planes sold and we upgraded to a Learjet 45. Flew the LR45 all over N America and Western Europe. I ended that and started in a BE90/BE350/BE400. It eventually lead to flying the Astra & a G-100. Moved back home and operated a BE400XP and we are now in a Citation XLS+.

Default New Guy

Hello All,

I am an 8 year Air Force Pilot. Currently flying the C-5M and have a little under 2k hours. Previous experience as a T-6 IP as well as some time in 11 other aircraft across the mil and civilian world. I've been very fortunate to have had some cool folks that'll let me steal the front seat on a $100 breakfast out and back.

Ultimately looking to get hired at any major but do have my heart set on Delta.

Here to learn and hopefully help with what limited experience I have. So far this forum had been incredibly informative.

Default Late Bloomer?

Hello,
I retired from the miliary over 10 years ago and never really thought the airlines would hold interest for me, but suddenly find myself interested--mostly because I hear about the hiring floodgates being wide open. Also, I am ready for a job that I do not have to "take home" with me. My biggest hurdle is going to be recency of experience--I have 3000 hours, but my last flight was over 16 years ago. I am looking forward to getting some good guidance from this forum, even if it is brutal honesty that this is never going to work. Or that it will be a longer uphill climb than I thought. Based on info from family members in "the biz", it seems that if I can get some hours under my belt--possibly with a 135 carrier or the like, that I should be able to rush the regionals and the majors within a few years.

Look forward to interacting with y'all!
George

Hey all,

Current U.S.F.S. Smokejumper mission captain. Spent some time at a regional before coming here flying the 175. Flew a PC-12 for a 135 prior to that and spent some time instructing prior to that. Looking to get back into the airlines and thought this would be a good resource. Looking forward to talking with all you guys/gals.
