For any AAAE members out there...
I looking at taking either the CM (Certified Member) or the ACE (Airport Certified Employee) test because I will be reembursed for the test and all the materials and I figured it may be a good thing to have on a resume for future job opprotunities.
My question is what the difference between the two certifications are and, given the choice between the two which would be a better certification to have.
A little background on me, I am just finishing up my CFI and after instructing for a few years I hope to get into the regionals and move up the chain where I can, eventually want to fly for FedEx (longshot I know, but I've gotta have a goal, in my defense I wanted to fly with them before they were cool! ). I currently work for Ops out of SLC and I have been looking at the possibility of the management side of aviation cause, well reading all y'alls posts is kinda depressing . Cheers!

Hey man if your working for the City of Salt Lake in Airport Operations, then I would recommend taking the CM certification first. Although, given what you are saying on how you would eventually like to move on the regionals and eventually the majors, there really is no point in the ACE program unless you are looking at moving up to Ops Supervisor.
The downside to the ACE program is that it doesnt count towards the A.A.E. designation. Therefore, the cheapest option is the C.M. program because it is $300 dollars less for a similar accomplishment and upgradable to the A.A.E. designation should you choose to stay on the side of airport operations.
