This must be a generational thing. I leave my cell phone ringer on because I often set it down when working on some tasks, and even occasionally leave the room it is in. If it was permanently grafted to me, as seems to be the case with so many, then I might not need the audible ringer either, but since I can bear to part with it, an aural tone is very useful.

I award today's TOTD to the Skywest tool climbing out of Denver, arguing about the climb via clearance. You plugged up the damm frequency so long we had to level off. If you don't get it by now, perhaps you should find another line of work.
