What Fred said is right. More often than not someone that has gotten into aviation had to work extremely hard to make it rather than have it handed to them.

Les Abend's continued presence on CNN. It's one thing to come on and answer questions but a totally different thing to become a part of the CNN circus on the Malaysian flight 370. They have nothing new to report yet they have their experts on panel every night.

Here, the other night Les shows what the Malaysian crew would have looked like if they were wearing the oxygen mask fighting some kind of oxygen/pressurization/smoke issue:

"There are three types of flyers in this world. 5% are aviators who always go above and beyond. 10% are pilots who are consistent. The remaining 85% are certificate holders who only can pass a check ride." I, myself, am an aviator. Which one are you? And you better hope you aren't a certificate holder or you are going to have a tough time."

That is not me saying that. Its a quotation just FYI.

Well written quote by one of the 85% who somehow thinks they are in the "5%" of total sky gods.

This sounds like one of those guys who then proceeds to scare the daylights out of you in the cockpit and you have to secretly save his bacon on a minute by minute basis to get there alive. But man, if you even make it obvious once that he screwed up, you're going to get another one of these "I am an aviator" speeches.

Who wrote this quote? What an idiot.
