Guys, I'm all for flaming that loser, but let's not put ourselves in a false position. Be careful when pinging this guy. Darn near everything is traceable on the internets. I'd hate to see someone get charged with harassment.

Mail is much harder to trace.

Register someone for more information about a college. Two year, four year, doesn't matter. They will bombard your inbox like the Allies did the beaches of Normandy.

You bet that savvy managements know this. Even blue collar union bosses in bed with their managements know this. They will truffle sniff their membership, getting a feel for each worker's "monthly nut" and then, knowing what they earn, they know exactly how dependant on the job they truly are. Today you can add in the self induced artificial crisis of education costs, as today's parents dump near or even above 6 figures per "26 year old kid" for worthless degrees they know for an iron clad fact will produce zero ROI in the long run. Even worse is how emotionally attatched they become to the concept. The pressures of keeping that captain's house or the boat is massive, but its nothing compared to keeping daddy's little girl in school dropping 40 large every year to extend her childhood and delay her inevitable still entry level job.

This is a key element of unity that we're missing. If you can't walk away, they own you.
Unfortunately this is true for many people.

It was not my intent to harass him. I was really trying to understand why a guy who had crossed a union picket line to fly would then be wearing an ALPA lanyard. I mean ALPA can't get most guys today to wear a lanyard and here's a scab proudly wearing one. It doesn't make sense to me at all.

He's got his email on a public website so I thought I'd drop him a quick note to first confirm he is in fact a scab and then see if he could explain what's up. Wow, what an answer. I can tell he's rationalized it all in his mind. What an ego.

Again, from his reply,

"Our strike at Continental was a giant IQ test and those brain-dead idiots who chose to drink the ALPA Kool-Aid all lost big time.
I mean striking an airline "after" it declared bankruptcy was about as stupid as could possibly be!

Since I chose to keep it going (one of 125 who did) I feel very responsible for helping to create the largest airline in the world today."

He's so proud of what he did he claims it on his Linkedin page,

Jim Green | LinkedIn

"Worked with the COB of Texas Air Corp. and the CEO of Continental Airlines, suggesting a course of action that turned our operation from a failing one into one that became the best & largest airline in the world."

What a tool...

So, in addition to being a scab and a scumbag, he's also claiming he works for the new American?

Dalad and Razor, thanks for your awesome posts. Its pilots like you who will help incoming new hires and fence sitters understand the history of our profession, and just how detrimental these people who crossed picket lines were to the industry. What you guys do goes a long way for educating those who may not realize whats at stake in their careers. Cheers to you

That's nice of you to say it, ghilis but I'm still new to this industry and trying to understand it all myself. I was career military so being a union labor guy is new to me! I do believe though, as others here have posted, that now while the cotton is tall is the time to get your financial house in order. Don't be the guy in debt up to your eyeballs that gets the call from the CEO trying to convince you it's okay to cross that picket line. It's a decision that will color what you do every day for the rest of your life. Don't do it. Decide now to be the guy that's proud when he looks in the mirror.

American Airlines isn't/won't be the largest until Single Operating Cert. (SOC) with US Air.

Pretty dumb sparky. Read up on antispam laws and you just might sleep for a while. But don't worry I'm sure APC won't give you up.
