Flew with a chap who would take a linen of the galley cart. He put the linen on his lap before fastening his seat belt. He said it prevents lap belt stripes being imprinted on his polyester pants.

Guess I don't know the secret handshake for that tradition. But hey being overseas for 22 years, what do I know what's going on at home these days.

I rarely see the pre-merger DL guys do it, but it is reasonably common among the pre-merger NW guys.
