Airlines have this thing they call checked bags instead of traveling around like a Hobo with all the stuff that won't fit in the stall. If working, I'll save the 3 flusher for Ops.
- Pilots or FAs typically have a few bags. Me, I only have 2. Still didnt fit. - Passengers have roller boards, they are allowed to carry on planes. - I wouldnt expect many passengers to frequent this website and make a post. - Have you ever flown from a hub and have a 3 hr sit at an airport that isnt a base? |

Ya might dial it back a little there. I don't know what you (a mod I think) see, but I don't see any deleted posts. On my browser, the posts have just vanished with no trace. |

Cut them some slack. Maybe they got surprised with the stop when 99% of the RJ's usually pull away at +30kts driving like those little cars in a Shriner's parade. ;)
Stay Vr-10 and you're all good. ;) |

The Q400s we have now do not have a sink or running water. Alaska is that cheap. The lavs always smell like sh!t too. There's some sani-foam stuff you can "sanitize" your hands with after you're done.
Separately, my condolences for the incident on Fri Aug 10. |

On Castaway last night Tom Hanks fills up the sink and splashes the water in his face, how gross. I wonder if FedEx guys do that, or if those 11's were in airline service first. |

Amazing. Do the toilets have flush water? Or do they do like the old railroad toilets which used to have a sign over the commode, ‘Do not flush while the train is in the station’? The old railroad toilets just had a flapper which, when opened dumped directly on the railroad track.

Wow! Next thing you are going to tell me is the Alaska Q400 does not serve First Class meals! Lol

Back on topic about leaving the f/A's after we land. We are all adults here that can take care of ourselves. There is no reason for the front end crew to hang around while we wait for the entire plane to deplane of we're going to hotel that has a scheduled van run.
I can understand if the van is for hire. |

I can understand if the van is for hire. Plenty of reasons for waiting, you obviously possess a limited mental reasoning as to why. No use in explaining, I'll just laugh with the FA's while discussing your ilk's leadership skills on the next flights. Don't feel bad, plenty of small shoes for your type to fill. ("Back on topic"...……..Priceless) Congrats "Tool of the Day" Mr Floobs |

In 27 years in the airline business, in the above situation, I’ve NEVER ditched a cabin crew heading to the same hotel because I couldn’t wait the extra 7-10 minutes. I’ll also say this: if a captain ever suggested this, I’d politely tell him that I’m waiting, and I’d wave him goodby as he left to take the van to the hotel, alone. |

Well, if the cabin and cockpit crew are BOTH staying at the same hotel, then the normal, polite thing to do is go together - like a crew. The impression you give if you leave them is, “Screw you. I can’t and won’t wait. You’re on your own.”, which certainly does NOT subscribe to the “we’re in this together” CREW mentality, and says everything about your leadership ability - and not in a good way.

The only excuses for ditching the crew are staying at a different hotel, being on short rest or if you take your own transportation to the hotel. |
A good alpha looks after the pack.

I can understand if the van is for hire. I’m the last one off the jet, through immigration (especially through immigration), into the hotel van, and to check into the hotel... well you can figure it out. F/As at carriers have different report times. That said, I’m on that van with the F/A’s to ensure the aircraft, tech log to mitigate potential delays. My crew’s safety and security is paramount to me. That’s a part of leadership, courtesy, consideration, team concept and moreover responsibility. Who knows, Floobs ....if and when you get your fourth stripe you can look back on your post and say to yourself “Was that me?!?” |
Take the van that gets you to the plane by your report time. When getting to an overnight: if you’re not staying at the same hotel as the F/As then leave, if you are, then wait for them and don’t be a jerk and steal the hotel van.
Why is this so hard? |

Simple leadership shows that you never ask anyone to do something you wouldn’t do.
If you can honestly say you wouldn’t expect the FAs to wait for you then leave. I would expect them to wait for me so of course I would wait for them. Don’t make life complicated. |
