Tool of the day

y'all realize that most of the people asking what kind of plane you fly generally don't know or care what a b757 or b767 is? All they wanna do is "do you fly BIG planes?" and "are you a COMMERCIAL pilot????"
So that's what I tell them
(Yes these questions are my pet peeve)

what's your route?
...just trying to be the everyday unknowing tool...

You can be flying a Falcon 900, G550, or Global, and some schmuck will ask "Ever thought of being a commercial pilot?" or "Do you want to be a commercial pilot one day?"

LOL! I get that question all the time. I generally avoid telling people I'm a pilot for this reason-I don't take well to the publics general stupidity. Maybe that makes me a tool, but at least I admit it.

Remember the day when you would tell anybody that you were a pilot? Especially in a bar! I avoid it like the plague now.

My next door nighbor is a mid 50's ish house wife who tells me she is deathly afraid of flying...and then I see her driving her Surburban around town at 50mph in a school zone, texting!!
When she asked, "Aren't you afraid of flying now, with all these terrorists trying to blow up airpalnes..." etc. I told her, "No, I'm afraid of driving, surrounded by a bunch of women who are texting!"

I've never understood how people can be so afraid of flying, but so ready to do some of the dumbest jackass-style stunts I've ever seen on this earth-nevermind the way half of them drive.

Rock, can't say I've ever been asked what my route is. Considering I fly Metros to 3000 foot gravel strips in the middle of nowhere, Canada, I can't say it's a particularly glamorous set of routes to choose from.
