How naive. The US debt issue isn't caused by any of those. SS? Really? Read a book.

The so-called markets have determined public policy since the industrial revolution. Money = power. Money = power. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Thank you so much for sharing that with us. I have to laugh at what passes for reason these days. Turn off your TV and think.

Could your share a little bit about your formal economic education with us, or are you just another public high school dropout? Because that is exactly what your pathetic little rants sound like.

But go ahead and cite your sources, we can wait, we already know about SS. I challenge you missy to sell an identical program to the public, I will be happy to visit you on Sundays at the big house. Because that is exactly where you would end up. As much as I like those all girl prison movies, I find the stench unbearable. Ever been to one of those prisons?

Funny, but I prefer to think of things in economic terms rather than some insane political creed, you might want to learn a little bit about the oil market, it has nothing to do with patriotism or your trite political statements.

The markets decide and lame political statements are just that.

I must say, we don't get many female communist amateurs here, please expand on your answers. We always look forward to hearing from such a rare species. You go girl!

I have no dog in this little fight between you and LW. However, your use of "us" is curious......as if you have some imagined consensus. Do you feel the need for imagined validation?

Default needs to be some accountability on tax use

Unfortunately the states have fallen behind over the years on bridge and highway upkeep and it begs to ask what were they really using the highway use taxes for, lets just say over the past 20-25 years ?
Excess gas is being sold at market so good luck with any cheap gas in the future .

Are you being deliberatly stupid. More drilling in the US means more US jobs. It means less US borrowiing from China to pay Saudia Arabia. And increasing the supply lowers the cost. Your man is trying to decrease demand by fiat and growing bathtub algae. China is drilling 50 miles off our coast while you clowns bury your head in the sand. We are the only country in the world that refuses to use our natural resources (or even find out if we have any). You guys claim we have only 2% of the known free flowing oil reserves (notice the qualifer), how do you know? What was Brazils percent of "known" reserves in 2000, what is it now? When you say you are for "All of the above" it means you dont block your most successfull options, like a pipeline from Canada. You know a lot about crony capitalism you dont know crap about capitalism.

Mod note: the red-blue spiral alarm just went off on the moderator control panel. Please refrain from overt political posting, bashing, and name-calling at APC. "We" will have to shut the thread down if it continues.

Are you being deliberatly stupid? is a question not name calling. Very similar to someone telling me I dont know anything about X y or z.

To prove I am not being partisan here is slick willie:

Always amazed that the people with 2 or 3 posts figure out the avatar thing right away.

I'm not clear on your meaning. Some technology we take for granted has been heavily funded by government and wouldn't exist in it's current form without government. Our national system of highways and the internet, for example, were funded by the government and ignited the economy. There has been countless innovations that came out of NASA like Velcro and hospital patient monitoring technology. That's what good government does.

If, on the other hand, you are saying that tax payers shoveling money to the billions-of-dollars-per-quarter-profit oil companies in the form of subsidies and tax credits is buffoonery, I agree.
