MSNBC's Tucker Carlson talking with NBC Aviation analyst Robert Hager.
Carlson: I understand Lidle was planning a trip from New York to California in this plane. Is this really possible in a plane like this?
Hager: (being as gentle and courteous as possible) Yes Tucker, as long as you land and refuel along the way.

Sports commentator Jim Rome came up with another pearl:
"I've never understood the whole pilot/plane ownership thing. Flying is like going to the dentist, it's a necessity of modern life. Doesn't mean I'm buying a drill, standing in front of my bathroom mirror and fixing my cavities. Why? Because it's dangerous, and should be left to professionals."

I still don't understand how you guys think it was on purpose. Have you ever flown by a sky scraper and tried to count floors. he woulda had to have made a few laps. Guessing the 22nd floor isn't easy. Plus his CFI was there reporting issues. Anyone catch the name of that guy yet? Maybe, just maybe possible he wanted to die too because of CFI pay, but I doubt it... And he wasn't a scab. You can't be a scab where you're payed based on ability to play and draw in people. You're payed what everyone calculates your worth. I have family that played pro ball for the Oakland A's when there was the strike. He didn't consider anyone a scab. Players crossing didn't make a difference. If Mark McGuire wanted "X" dollars he was getting it regardless because of who decided they would work for less.
In the year 2005, the average salary was $2,476,589. There was no line to cross. Each player is his own. They just have a MLB association. No union.
