Was that the CRM 114 discriminator he was pulling out near the end of the clip? I lived on an AFB as a kid that had a squadron of B58s, that's a kind of loud you never forget!

I think the well known CRM 114 was back in the third seat. It looks like a canopy contol under the cover in the clip, Convair didn't want your dangly bits touching it accidently.

Hard to believe the first flight was in 1956, just 11 years after WWII and 55 years ago.

Fitz Fulton set an altitude record of over 85,000 ft. in the B-58, winning the 1962 Harmon Trophy.
The AF insisted on a tail gun. The designer said: "You don't need it, but if you install one, you will need it."
