Guessing Jet Blue and Virgin pilots don't have this problem.

I've never had that issue, but I've had oil leak on my shirt doing a preflight called the CP and they reimbursed me for the shirt.

If that doesn't work, you could "borrow" a towel from an overnight hotel, put a slit in it and wear underneath the harness. Or, cut an old T-shirt and make a cape out of it. Or, just walk around with marks all over your shirt.
Your post made me laugh, and after my dentist appointment today, I needed some comic relief.......thanks! The cape reminded me of a sdf guy who puts a towel on his lap. Not sure why. Maybe it's a navy thing?

My buddy pulled out a cloth diaper and draped it around his shoulders!!! It works well but I laughed my butt off at him.

I think the pilots of Horizon 2658 (Engine failure and loss of control on landing back in late 80s) would disagree. As they careened towards the terminal, the F/O reached over and locked the CA's shoulder harnesses, and then locked his own.

After they slammed into 2 jetways and the terminal, the CA thought that the F/O's actions saved his life.

I've worn mine ever since I heard that story in initial Dash-8 ground school.

If you properly wash your shirts (or have them laundered), and replace them every 2 years or so, this won't be a problem.

Just dont use them. Most pilots only use them on lc or if a fed or j/s Is there.
