Will there ever be another 1960's muscle car?

428 CJ ports were appropriately sized, IMO. There were other FE heads that were not. It was irrelevant in my case, however, as my Mach I had the drag pack and 4.30 gears! Low end was not a problem! Wish I never sold it...

4.30, yikes!!! My dad had a 55 truck with 4.55 gears and a Muncie 4 speed. Anything over 60 mph and it felt like it was about to blow up.

Almost said no, but then I realized in 30 years today's new cars will be seen as the last of high performance combustion vehicles. And let's face it, the current versions of our old favorites are light years ahead in terms of performance, engineering and value.
Though the initial muscle/pony car push is special because it was a whole new genre, I do think the nostalgia angle is significant and applies to vehicles many of us once wouldn't have considered very seriously because they came after our first drives. The mid to late 70's cars, for example, were horrible compared to the late 60's versions, but now they have nostalgia (and let's not forget, much more reasonable pricing) so they are garnering much more attention lately.

I've got a "new" GTO and they were only made in limited numbers in 04-06, now that Pontiac is gone they may be worth something down the road. Every time one is wrecked it makes mine more and more rare. Mines fully built so it's by no means stock but they're already holding their value and or increasing. I'm not selling either way but I guess we'll see.
