Fsx
Hey guys:
Having an issue with my system. Currently running FSX on a Dell 618 desktop; Vista; > 2 megs or memory.
Problem: while running, program freezes. I've deleted all of the cookies and have done all that I can think of to do. Any suggestions?
Thx.
NOTE to Mods: Looked for the "Hobby" thread but didn't see it when I logged in.

That program's a resource hog. Video memory resources in particular.
I've made it a practice to always reboot before starting it, then one by one I close as many unnecessary running programs in the system tray as I can get away with.
Afterwords I reboot again before starting Outlook etc.

Download the free program CCLEANER (crap cleaner) from
Download CCleaner 3.10.1525 - FileHippo.com
It will clean out cookies, internet cache, and fix the registry among other things. It will also show you what programs are being started at boot, a ton of crap can be disabled there. Dell has at least 3 programs designed to "help" that don't need to be running.
If you can, disable antivirus while running FSX and see if that helps. Of course you may want to disable the internet if antivirus is off
Defrag the harddrive
Check to see if you have the latest drivers for your video card.
Good Luck!

Believe it not, I lowered them the last time I was on; Low Medium I think it was.
Ain't that the truth. I have some 4 meg sticks. Gonna check to see if that's compatible with my system.
N9373M, I'll give it shot this afternoon and let you know how things turn out! Thanks for your help guys.
