Another Idiot Kicked Off JetBlue Flight
And good of the US Ski and Snowboard Association to disassociate him from them. I have 2 young cousins who were on the US Olympic team in Athens (one of them has a silver medal), and we are always so proud of them for their professionalism, athleticism and character. They never did anything that reflected poorly on their country and families.
From MSNBC:
An Olympic hopeful accused of urinating on a fellow passenger during a cross-country flight has been kicked off the U.S. Ski Team's development squad.
Robert "Sandy" Vietze, 18, was aboard JetBlue Flight 166 from Portland, Ore., to New York's John F. Kennedy airport on Tuesday when he stumbled down the aisle to use the toilet. However, he didn’t quite make it all the way to the lavatory and instead emptied his bladder on a sleeping 11-year-old girl, the New York Post reports.
"I was drunk, and I did not realize I was ****ing on her leg," Vietze, who told authorities that he had consumed eight drinks, was quoted as saying in the Post.
"Based on the information we have, Sandy Vietze is in violation of the USSA code of conduct and team agreement, and has been dismissed from the team," U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association executive vice president of athletics Luke Bodensteiner told msnbc.com in a statement.
Vietze, of Warren, Vt., was taken into police custody upon the plane's arrival at the gate, JetBlue told msnbc.com in a statement. He was issued a federal summons for indecent exposure, but a spokeswoman for the Port Authority Police told NBC New York that federal prosecutors decided not to pursue criminal charges. A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office, however, told the Associated Press that the case is pending.
Vietze, among the 75 best skiers in the nation, had taken the red-eye flight after a weeklong training camp. It was not immediately clear whether he was served alcohol on the plane.
JetBlue declined to comment on the incident further, citing an internal investigation.
When asked what JetBlue's policy is regarding intoxicated passengers, airline spokeswoman Allison Steinberg said "our inflight crewmembers are trained to take the necessary actions if a customer is noncompliant with a crewmember’s instructions or duties."

You can hide it well - - - to a point.
It will be interesting for them to find out WHERE he got those drinks if it was at the airport or on the plane. I've never been on JetBlue, but I assume they DO serve alcohol.
In any case - it is refreshing to see someone had accountable for their actions in some form. Those are some tough dreams down the tube for his actions!

Well either he got absolutely smashed before arriving at the airport, or got a bartender in the airport or a flight attendant to serve him - a lot.
I'd like to think he was smashed beforehand and we don't have bartenders and flight attendants not ID'ing people and serving an endless line of alcohol.
I didn't get this from the article...they're not pursuing charges, but they issued him a summons?
