Two F-15's almost got to the second plane which hit the towers. If they had been F-22's (faster) they might have even made it. But it would have been a moot a point anyway because NOBODY had authority to shoot down an airliner on 9/11.
The air force doesn't lie intercepting cessnas either...not their idea.

I feel threatened by this women. OMG my security! My safety! Thank god for folks like Lt-Col hard a$$ at NORAD for keeping me safe from a granny in a J-3 Cub. What the hell is he doing speaking to the press anyway?
