Default Whistler BC - suggestions?

Hey all, I'm considering a trip to Whistler before summer is over and I was wondering if anyone had local knowledge or suggestions of things to do on a summer visit? I've got a great place to stay if I go, I'm looking more for family friendly activities.

I'd be driving from the Seattle area, so any tips for driving cross-boarder would be welcome (never made the drive).

Thanks!

I haven't crossed the border from WA, but I have crossed many times from AK. It is a painless process. Just have your passport ready. In my experience the Canadian border guards are usually very cool.

I can't help you with Wistler. Have fun though!

We have driven into and out of BC for years. Never any problem, but then we are anal people who have our passports ready, take off sunglasses and hats, and always have a winning smile. And our destination is almost always a food place (Richmond Chinatown (for quail on a stick), White Spot Restaurants, etc) so pretty harmless activities.

Lots of fun things to do in Whistler in the summer. Biking. Eating. Wildlife. Golfing (that elitist sport). Gondola riding.

If you're one who can ride a motorcycle... the roads up around and North of Whistler are amazing for a motorcycle ride. That is, assuming you'd be able to rent one up there someplace. I haven't looked into it.

Default CruiseAmerica/CruiseCanada

We rented an RV in Calgary from these guys:
Cruise America: RV Rentals, Motorhome Rentals, Wohnmobil Mieten, Camper Hire
Great vacation camping in Banff & Jasper parks.
They also have locations in Seattle and Vancouver.
One caution -- after Labor Day they may not let you use the onboard water system if you're going into the mountains, due to the possibility of freezing.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Has anyone found a simple guide to help understand what kind of food you can take into Canada? Thanks!

Why on God's green earth would you want to take food into Canada? What kind of food did you have in mind? [Maybe I don't really want to know]

Just be careful taking in and/or bringing back the following: $10,000 in currency, plutonium, bags of fertilizer, plastic explosives, illegal immigrants, firearms. Oh, and if you are going with the kids, but not the kids' mother, you should probably get a note saying you are still married to their mother and she has given you permission to take them across the border.

Say, you have been all over the world (more so than me) so why am I telling you these things?!? This is almost as weird as Redeye and Busboy deliberately bidding the same trips so they can spend quality time together!

Food for the drive maybe? I know when I go through Canada I like to have a few snacks. There is nothing open on my usual route through Canada. Plus there is only about three stops.

It is unfortunately. We had problems going into Canada for the day with my mom because my dad was at work. They said we needed a notarized lettter.
