Do what’s expected of your as it relates to your duties and responsibilities.
Don’t show up with ear buds from your I-pod in your ears.
Leave the knapsack at home and carry a real flight bag.
Be well groomed and make sure your uniform does not look as if you slept in it the night before.
Be yourself, and be honest.
If you are unsure about any issues ask the Captain.
Don’t B.S. the Captain on issues you have limited knowledge of.
Don’t go into business for yourself.
Follow SOPs
Don’t try to be a legend in your own mind.

SPEAK UP!!! I am not a mindreader. If you don't feel comfortable or if it's your first time doing something, say so. Ask questions and be involved with the team. Example: Had a newbie going into DCA, never flew the River Visual 19 and only online for three months. I told him (kindly) it would be a good idea for me to fly it and him to look and learn. He wasn't too happy, but when we got to the gate he said "I'm glad you shot that approach, I would have been all over the place."

Good question.
The fact that you asked shows you are conscientious.
As far as setting the Capt's instruments or other Capt duties, I wouldn't unless asked. It's all about being standard.
The best advice I can give for nailing CRM: No matter what your crew position (F/A all the way to Capt.) NEVER surprise another crew member. If you can do that you are always compliant and easy to work with. When your partner comes up with their own procedures or non standard flows, It makes you wonder whats next.
Fly smooth, keep the bi***ing to a minimum (sometimes hard to do) and treat ALL with respect no matter what their position and you will enjoy and go far.
Congratulations and good luck,
CG

Know your stuff in and out. Show up prepared and ask questions if you don't know the answer. But before you ask said question, please ensure it''s not something that you really should have already known. An FO once asked me on the first leg what the max speed was below 10000. Needless to say, I was pretty scared on so many levels.

My brief: "Don't scare me, don't violate me, and don't let me screw up, and I'll do the same for you. And by all means, speak up if you see something."
Otherwise: "I'm gettin' coffee, you want one?"
"Which meal are you having?"
"Nice landing."
"I'll take the fat/ugly one."
"Captain, wake up, it's time to land."
"I'll get it."
