slingbox
I hear guys talking about slingboxes and watching their home DVR while on an international layover. I'm looking to buy one and I'm looking for any advice/info that may be helpful. Where is the best place to buy one? How much can I expect to pay? Is there a service fee or monthly charge? Is one brand better than another? Are there ones with more bells and whistles and is it worth getting the extras? Are they compatable with most laptops?
I have done no research on this yet, but figured this forum was a good place to get feedback from guys who actually use them.
Thanks

Sling box is great! Use it to watch your home team anywhere in the world you can get an Internet signal. There are a few different sling box models. Basically the difference is the number of devices you can hook up to it and some are HD capable. I think the one that only accepts one source is enough since I only need my cable box hooked up to it. I bought mine at Best Buy a few years ago but don't remember what I paid. I want to say around $150-200. Once you buy the box there are no monthly costs. The only additional costs you may incur are $30 for the iPhone or iPad app. It will work over 3G but WiFi is obviously faster. If you use a laptop, you can use their software for free.
Go buy one, you will love it!
