Bump from the grave, but curious what people would say if the photo was taken of the employee's ID/SIDA badge?

I know where you're going with this, but it's irrelevant. It is precisely this type of paranoia that feeds the ever-intrusive TSA regulations. Anyone who truly wants in restricted areas will gain access. These types of actions are nothing more than busy work that give the public the perception of security while eroding the smallest of liberties ever further.

If we continue to sacrifice liberty on the altar of safety, we will eventually have neither.

Disrespectin'? What are you implying?

As far as Dewitt being escorted off due to being a "security risk", sounds like a classic case of abuse of authority. I probably wouldn't have taken a photo of her name tag, but if she (TG) was rude, I would have definitely complained.

There are quite a few FA & CSAs that need to polish up on their people skills.

Would say that the ID badge is there expressly for the purpose of identification. i would first ask for indentification of the person, but if that person was unwilling to give that information (because s/he knew that I was going to make a complaint) then taking a picture of the badge is acceptable. Example - if you ask for a police officer's badge number then they are required to provide it or asking for identification if approach by a person claiming to be a FSDO. A gov't offical/employee should not have a problem providing proof of ID. They certainly don't seem to have a problem asking a private citizen for theirs!

Sorry for the leading question, I actually agree with you, but we had a similar situation happen locally and we wrote it off as a non-issue. Just was curious what some other people might have thought.
