Default Bad Landing Response

Everyone makes a bad landing every once in a while....myself included. Then, here comes the smartass comment from one of the passengers. What are some good comeback responses to these smartass comments? Something that I could say that won't get me fired.

I do my best to remember who pays my mortgage...the pax. That being said, I just smile nod and wave..those who make remarks are pilot wannabe's. Period. I just think how sweet it would be to ask them if they have an ATP or a 737 type rating? Funny thing is, years ago I would probably have taken the time to explain crosswinds, gusts, fatigue, all the factors involved..now, I dont give a sh!t.

Just hang out in the cockpit until they're all off.

...if you care enough. I don't! They can try to land the jet next time if they think they can do better.

It's not my fault. Not the airplane's fault. It's the asphalt.

(No. I wouldn't really say that.)

I with the others, I just don't care anymore.

That being said, sometimes I'll tell them I wanted to leave no doubt that we were there, or if it was a bouncer that I wanted to give them a few to choose from, so pick your favorite and remember that one.

I took several shots after my first landing in the plane. After a, "Must have been in the Navy." I replied with, "Sorry, it was my first landing in this plane." Don't know if they believed it or not.

That was a standard landing. There is an extra fee for smooth landings.

Not that I would actually say that.
