Check your stuck mic

Approaching 10 years flying boxes, and more glad avoiding with every passing day....
I used to brief this more on OPSEC than anything else, but when flying a D model Eagle (2 seater) I would tell the other person "never say anything on the intercom you would not say on the radio. And never say anything on the radio you wouldn't want to hear on CNN...".
While it isn't tactics we are protecting now, the same ROE applies to cockpit conversations. Save your inner secrets for the bar....

Unfortunately, this guy's problem is that he spouting off about his fellow coworkers.....the people he's supposed to be working alongside. I'm not saying we don't all do it from time to time, but this should remind all of us to be extra careful since we have multiple microphones in our everyday officespace.
...let's look at this another way. Suppose your airline CEO or even your Chief Pilot was at some civic event in the airline's hometown and an open media mic caught them going off on a 5 minute rant about how "all pilots are overpaid primadonna pains in the butt who weren't smart enough to get real jobs". Are you telling me that you'd all overlook that and say he's entitled to his opinioin and we should just let bygones be bygones?

In agreement with each word in your paragraph and his recording.

Most verbiage addressing actions that bring discredit and bad publicity upon the employer are contained in the first chapters/paragraphs of most ops manuals. Redress can be up to and including termination.
If there is any discernible, measurable loss of SWA revenue attributed to this loudmouth, he is likely to be one sorry pilot in some sort of fashion.

You know, this guy said some pretty shocking things:
"I killed my neighbors kitten this morning before I came to work. So what do I have to do to get reimbursed?"
"I love pictures of naked men as much as the next guy, my problem is with those Delta pilots posting cheerleader pictures all of the time."
"I hate Delta pilots. And I hate fat airplanes. I hate Delta pilots in fat airplanes. I just hate Tsquare and Carl Spackler. I really just hate my father."
I need to write some stuff up, does maintenance still want us not to write stuff up this week? I mean this damn fuel and not charging bag fees is killing us."
"will I be on Leno?"
"now that i am famous, when does Atlanta open up for bidding? And please tell me were stapling and dumping them faster than a [insert gay joke]."
Still, I think this is all b.s. and if swa goes after this pilot individually to impress anybody I will be extremely disappointed.

I see the PC Police are already all over this, when they should have no business even hearing that recording, or anyone else for that matter. He was just calling it what it is.. in a pretty rather brash way, however.
That is funny stuff. Hope he doesn't catch too much crap for it, and sure makes you look back at all those different convos we all have had that could have potentially ended in similar fashion. Check your mic is right.
