TSA security x-ray machines and our food?
Kinda of a weird off the wall question, but has me curious. Has there been any evidence of radiation found in food that goes through the x-ray machines TSA uses? I ask this since a lot of us pack food for work so having our meals go through security x-ray machines 3-4 times before consuming it, could there be any harm to this?

Do you worry about the amount of radiation your food is receiving when you are eating it in the cockpit or cooking it in the microwave? You can worry yourself to DEATH about things if you look hard enough I'm sure.

Haha no I don't, just curious. Either way I'm sure homemade food with radiation is still better than airport McDonald's...

No matter at all. A great deal of your food may already be pre-irradiated. It is used in many areas to reduce infection. If you are curious, this is actually a pretty good wiki-article.

There is no harm that I can think of that would come from the x-ray and your food. Although if you send a lot of liquid through, it may get taken away from by the TSA dude and wind up as his lunch.
A greater concern would be the naked scanners, shining uncalibrated X-rays on your skin, which AFAIK active crew is exempt from, and the general public can opt-out of.
