Wanna make that video even cooler? Hook it up to a high def-surround sound sound and turn it up. Not as cool as being there, but close.
Agreed, one of the most aesthetically pleasing/"sexy" airplanes ever made. One of my college professors was one of the Americans that participated in the Battle of Britain, then later flew the P-51. Some of his stories about the airplane were great.
He said it broke his heart to watch the new arriving P-51's getting tore up right as the war ended as they were no longer needed and wouldn't be sent back to the states. All with nothing but the production test/ferry time on the airframes.

Both beautiful airplanes no doubt, The wing on the spitfire is a piece of art. But my vote also goes to the P-51. if I had the ultra huge pile o cash it takes to own a warbird though it's be an F8F Bearcat. Hands down the coolest looking prop driven airplane ever built IMHO.

The whistling sound is actually the gun barrels
The stick loading in the Mustang is pretty high compared to other fighters of the day...
Also - went through a cloud the other day in the Mustang... it was like a speed-brake.

A Marine with a soft spot for the F4-U? How could that be? I watched one do a flight demo some years ago. OMG what an elegant airplane with those gull wings.
