Default NR Headsets

I just got on with a carrier and I am looking to invest in a new headset. I want to get something that will last but also has superior noise reduction since I will be flyig an EMB-145 and i've heard the wind noise is very loud. I've been looking at the Clarity Aloft sets because of there small size and reasonable price. I am just unsure of how well they work since they are PNR. I am also considering the new Bose, which is significantly more expensive. If anyone can give any insight or comparisons I'd greatly appreciate it.

TELEX 850 is about the smallest, lightest, cheapest ANR set for airline use. It does not cut out as much noise as an earmuff model, but should work fine for most jets (not sure about the ERJ).

It also does not require batteries.

I've used the 850 on the CRJ and the Citation and am happy with the balance between comfort and noise reduction. Not as much reduction as a on "clamp" like Bose or another full-size headset, but it worked well.

+2 on the 850.

The Bose A20 is also great, we use them on our King Airs.

The Lightspeed Zulus are also an excellent headset if you're going for the "clamp" type. But nothing's going to beat the Telex for comfort on long trips...

Chief Pilot is on his second set of Zulus! Biggest hunk of s*#t headset I have ever seen. Nothing but background noise (static) when he is in the plane. No prob with any other brand. Myself and another use Telex 850's another pilot uses a bose.

I know a few people who have switched from the Bose X to Zulus and say they like the Zulus more... never really heard any complaints about them.
