Republic/Frontier Discussions in Major Forum?
Why is this RAH stuff in the majors section? there is one airline (Frontier) that qualifies as a national, and then a bunch of seperate regionals all owned by a parent holding company.
If that's the guidelines, then they need to include the Pinnacle/Mesaba/Colgans and Virgin America's of the world...
doesn't it belong in the regionals section....
just sayin.

Frontier does qualify as an airline that belongs in the major section of this forum. Pinnacle, et al, does not.
Virgin America is still a "start up" on this forum.

There are several other regionals and subcontractors that meet that benchmark... and they don't belong in the Majors section either.
RAH, Pinnacle Air Holdings, and others are a bunch of seperate airlines that happen to be owned by a seperate holding company.
They do not meet that annual revenue threshold unless you take all the revenue from ALL the seperate companies.
For example;
AA and AE each meet that revenue threshold by themselves, yet we don't see Eagle in the majors do we? and rightfully so, since they aren't a major, they're a regional... just like the RAH and PNC.
Frontier isn't a major anymore than Virgin America is; so owning them doesn't cut it either.

Frontier and Midwest branded ops meet that criteria...as does Spirit, Allegient, and even *gasp* Virgin America, all of which have threads dedicated to them in the annals of the lofty APC Majors subforum.

How about this, rename the major thread the Airline Thread and the regional thread Outsourced Airlines, if we did that then this thread belongs in the... in this thread just like it is. RAH owns Frontier, thus belongs here.

RAH is pretty much now a major airline, even though they have certificates in the feed business. They are not really a startup with F9 and Midwest. We may not be happy with how they got there, but it is what it is.
While some big regionals meet the federal financial threshold to be considered a major (SKW, AE, etc) we don't really go by that here since they are still capacity providers, not full-blown airlines, and the issues and discussions are the same as other regionals.

Why not start a new group of airlines, put it ABOVE the Legacies, and call it Megalodons?
