Default Email interview with a commercial pilot ?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone on the forum would be generous enough to offer some answers via email to about 10 questions for my sons kindergarten project ? (career day - Pilot)

We're looking for a commercial airline pilot to answer some brief questions about training, duties, hours, early inspirations etc...

Thanks for any help!

Sincerely,

Steve Rieck

Welcome Steve and your kindergarten son. You will find our little community has some of the best people always willing to help out especially on a topic that is close to their heart.

I don't know about your son's project, but depending on time and availability, you might find a local pilot who might be persuaded to make a personal appearance in class. And accompanied by your music! Or have a pilot give a tour of the cockpit of a plane. Or a visit to the major airport near you.

Here's a call to our Delta guys.

California schools for me but I remember one of my friends who was an Asian kid who's Father who worked for JAL was going to come in and do a speech for career day.

I thought "cool". I wonder if he will wear his eye-patch.

Arrrrr...

Arrrrr...

I did a job type appearance at a friend's second grade class one time.
My favorite question was "Can you fly over Monster Island?"
That just warms the heart!

Thanks again everyone! If anyone wants to take a shot at these questions, feel free. a Military or commercial pilot would be great...

1] What is your name ? (tell us about who you fly for, how long, short bio… etc)

2] What motivated/inspired you to choose a career in aviation ?

3] What types of training does it take to become a professional pilot ?

4] What was your most memorable flight and why ?

5] How fast and how far can the types of planes you fly go ?

6] Explain three job duties of a professional pilot.

7] How many hours do you normally work and what is the farthest location you’ve flown to ?

8] What size planes have you flown?

9] What kinds of things do you check before each flight ?

10] In what ways do you think aviation will change/develop in the next 50 years ?
