Default Flightcase/Luggage options

good morning all...

just browsing around looking at options for luggage and a flight case. Ive read alot of good things about luggage works/purdy neat. I was thinking of going that route just because of long term durability, replacement parts etc.

But the flight case on the other hand... well I dont want to spend a ton on that. Heard catalog cases from office max would work. I couldnt find one I liked, but I noticed on stopover store that they are carrying a cheap vinyl flight case from purdy neat. Ive never seen it before; the cheapest one they had was the ballistic nylon one. This one is 79 bucks and looks decent. Does anyone have any experience with it?

Any other suggestions for either a rolly bag or flight case?

Good thread. I was just looking around at different options last night. Any suggestions for what works best on the 145 also?

I've had the cheap Stopover Vinyl case for about five years. It's starting to show it's age, but for $79 it's put up a heck of a show! When this one finally gives out, I'll probably buy another one.

I don't know from personal experience, maybe someone else could elaborate, but I've heard the "typical" flight case dimensions don't fit well in the RJ's smaller cockpits. I know there is one website that claims to have a slightly smaller bag that supposedly fits better... but can't remember off the top of my head.

If you are looking for a good cheap one, check these out..

I just ordered a Heritage Catalog Case (can't find it now, it may have sold out) for like $40 a month ago and I was quite surprised with how good it actually is. Being a poor new-hire, I had to go the hardcore economy route haha. I was expecting it to be a POS, but was pleasantly surprised when I unpacked it.

sold.. prob just going to get that one knowing the reputation of that company I probably cant go wrong. all the catalog cases Ive seen have the expandable handle.. that just seems to be extra weight and bulk I dont need.

thanks for all the replies so far.. wasnt expecting an answer this quick!

StrongBags - Flight Crew Luggage

These guys have some metal frame alternatives that dont weigh 50lbs empty like some of the Purdy neat bags. You can buy the individual parts to replace something online as well.
