I just bought the 2014 Timbuk2 copilot size medium (22"). They guarantee it forever and I was able to find it on Government & Military Discounts on Top Brands & Events | GovX for $167.00 shipped. I'll let you all know in a few months after training how it holds up.

A Jeppeson flight case has lasted me several years. I bought it for less than $100. It is made of vinyl and cardboard but I like it because it is lightweight(unlike me).

Question for the guys/gals that use the Luggage Works Stealth 22"

I am looking to purchase the newly released "Air" version which is advertised as 4 lbs. lighter than the original, and debating on whether or not to get the standard version with the side pockets or without the side pockets.

Stealth Air w/o Side Pockets

Stealth Air With Side Pockets

I think the single, long side pocket that runs the length of the bag would be nearly useless for me. So, I am curious for those of you that have this bag........do you actually use that long side pocket? and if yes, what do you usually pack in there?

I duno'.......the pocket-less version just looks much cleaner/streamlined to me.

I use it quite a lot on my 737 Stealth bag.

It is good for socks, rolled shirts/undergarments, workout clothes, or rolled dirty laundry. For 3-4 day trips it probably isn't necessary unless you pack heavy, for longer in the 22" Stealth it is definitely nice to have. Upside is when empty, they don't really pose a snag hazard (in my experience).

I'd personally spring $10 for the option of having it, but if you went without, I doubt you would miss it.

I have the stealth air with the one side pocket and other side with no pocket. It is the one they have listed as no side pockets. The jumpseat of the 737 will absolutely destroy your side pockets if you have anything in them. Southwest 737 classics in particular are very rough on bags due to the opc mount, but I have also heard similar reports of ripped side pockets from a United dude. It is a great bag and fits well under there, but that jumpseat is very unforgiving if you jam stuff in it and bulge the sides out.
I would imagine it is fine with other aircraft.

I have the air with all the pockets and love it. I use it on 17 day international trips and keep socks in one and the old skivvies in the other long pocket. Works great so far. I'd recommended both pockets, even if you don't put anything in the long one, you'll always have the option.

I've got the Luggage Works Executive 26" from my corporate days. Anyone have any trouble commuting/flying with this in the regionals? I'll be on the E-170/175, and may have to commute.
I see that the LW 22" is a more popular option, just curious if my bag will work.

What ever you get. Get one that's of quality even if it costs a little more or in the long run you will spend more.
