Rick spelled it out pretty good for you, and I concur.

I've always said, and believe that if someone wants to do something evil, they will find a way to accomplish it regardless of the security you have in place. There's just too many options. I personally appreciate all the FFDO folks out there, and wish that everyone would do that.
History shows us time and again that there are those who choose to be citizens and then there are those who choose to be subjects.

I think there is a whole lot of hype and media attention here over nothing.
Not really sure what this pilot thought would happen when he posted his movies to youtube, but I'm sure he didn't think it would receive the level of attention that it did.

I don't consider him a whistle-blower because nothing illegal occurred at the hands of a TSA agent. All he did was put a label on something that is public knowledge.
It's not as though he filmed animal abuse at a slaughterhouse, or police brutality against an unarmed assailant.

Two wrongs don't make a right, and deciding to use you airport security clearance, as well as your FFDO status, as way to start doing your own "investigating reporting" is breaking federal rules and regulations like it or not. Anyway you look at it he knowingly broke the rules of videotaping sensitive security areas.
Maybe we would all feel a little different if someone happens to sneak an explosive device through one of the many security loopholes illustrated on his youtube postings?

Again I think this guy had good intentions, and I can wholeheartedly say I agree with him at some level. I just don't think this was a very smart way of going about it.

I sure as heck think the TSA is as weak of an agency as they come, but deciding to undermine, humiliate, and embarrass them does little to fix the problem.
I'd be curious to see what other avenues this individual went down with the goal of improving airport security before he decided to take matters into his own hands.

Furthermore, for any pilots working out of the SFO airport in the near future, I'm sure TSA is going to be a little less "friendly" than they once were. I'm not saying this as a good thing, just be mindful of the repercussions that take place when attempting to embarrass a specific workgroup.

Default Airport Security??

Wheather you agree or disagree with the methods used by Chris Liu, I think we can all agree that there is a diaparity between security on the departure level and the baggage loading dock level at most major US airports! While passengers and flight crews are subjected to excessive and evasive security screening methods ramp personnel employed by various subcontractors with limited or no security background checks can usually access the ramp unescorted and unchecked to fuel, cater, and clean our aircraft.
TSA seemed more cocerned in protecting their reputation then doing their job!
The TSA seems to think harassment is proportional to security!
Why aren't all ramp personnel checked at the same level as flight crews?$
Why isn't all cargo placed on our aircraft screened?$
Maybe we should be less concerned about being politically correct since most of the terrorists seem to come from one group of individuals?

I haven't flown since a trip to Germany and Poland last year. Didn't even visit my little nephews in SAT.

However, I will book a seat immediately when the TSA implements mandatory cavity search on every single passenger! Never know what some terrorist (or grandma) might be hiding in there.
