This is ridiculous. If you don't want to fly - don't be screened- and don't fly.

A prostate exam is invasive and most would say a bit of a privacy invasion. If you don't want one, don't get one - you make your choices.

As far as crew, I think the problem is the flight attendants. You constantly hear cogent arguments from pilots about having top secret security clearances in the military, responsibility for nuclear weapons, and last (and most importantly), control of the aircraft. These are all very valid points - for the flight deck crew. The problem is that when we talk crew we have to include FA's - who also have cockpit access. That, in my opinion, is the proverbial can of worms that is the real problem.

Try again. It's our job. Not to mention subjecting the general public to a naked scan that some failure of a human being is watching in a back room on a machine that can save those images... or just has a cell phone camera... is ridiculous. Not to mention this stuff is just reactive and won't fix the problem. It's all just security theater.

Apples and oranges.....a prostate exam protects Yourself...you are looking out for your own well being. You simply can't compare the two. I believe for the sake of this industry, we need to solve this problem. Telling people if you don't like it then don't fly just doesn't cut it. If people stop flying because of the hassle of security then we are back to furloughs again.

Maybe "We have 50 states, and I can get from Philadelphia to any of them in three hours, and all I need to do is pay a day's wages and have my knickers touched and lift my powdered wig in public? Amazing!"
