Default Exotic animals on airplanes

My wife recently bought a Sugar Glider. We like to travel a lot on my days off and we were researching animals that can be brought onto the airplane. Most airlines says dogs, cats, and rabbits only. Are there any airlines that allow more exotic pets to travel? She is now worried because they require a specific feeding schedule and it would not be fair or healthy to just leave a bunch of food out and leave for a couple of days. This wouldn't be a huge problem if I could just return it. There is a strict no return policy on them. Here is a pic of what they look like.

That is a cute little bugger! Call the airline you want to ride and check it out.

I dunno, looks like the little bugger would rip your eyes out! That is, if he is actually bigger than your eyes. How big are those suckers? Look to be about 1-3lbs?

There is at least one charter company which specializes in pets. They fly in the cabin of a bizjet in a quiet, climate controlled environment with an attendant I believe. They fly multiple critters on each flight so you are not chartering a jet on your own.

I would not want to put my dog in the cargo bay of many aircraft...while it may be air conditioned, the temperature control often leaves a lot to be desired and it can be VERY loud back there, as well as dark.

HAHA, when they are full grown they aren't more than a pound. They get to be about 5 inches long (body) plus about a 5-6 inch tail.

I called one airline and they said no but said that guinea pigs were allowed. If I say it is a guinea pig and pay the fee will they ask to see the animal at check in?

One time we had a passenger who said nothing and just smuggled her pet guinea pig aboard in a small bag. Would have gotten away with it if she hadn't started feeding the creature on her meal tray. A passing F/A thought it was a mooching rat.....and that's when the trouble started.
