Any airplane builders?
I've been thinking since I have a whole bunch of wood working tools to maybe build my own airplane from scratch and want to see if anyone has any recommendations for what I'd like:
1. Has to have a tail wheel
2. Two Person
3. High Wing
4. Be able to do the occasional cross country
5. Not to complicated to build (nor doesn't require excellent wood working skills)
I was looking at the Pete & Poke but can't find any plans. Want to take my time, do a great job, and be able to buy parts for it when I have the cash to spend. Any other suggestions would be welcomed. I was looking at the Spruce catalog, but nothing really appealed to me.

I'd loved to build one of these. (Foxtrot 4) Team Tango

Look at the Glasair Sportsman.
Glasair Aviation - The Only Airplane You Can Build In Two Weeks!
If you can go with a low wing, Van's makes about the most economical kit out there. There are Rv's running around at 170 knots getting 25 mpg.

A PA-18 replica meets all five of your criteria. You can buy a Smith kit, a kit from CubCrafters or Dakota Cub, or you can scratch build. The Stewart System covering process, which does not use the dangerous chemicals of the Stitts process, is growing in popularity. Check out supercub.org for a number of threads regarding building/rebuilding SuperCubs and about covering processes.
By the way, if you haven't flown a Dakota Cub Super 18 you may want to check it out before you settle on a design. It's a great plane in every respect.
