Rare sighting
I was out playing with my kids in the yard this afternoon when we got a quite unexpected treat...
My kids are spring-loaded to look up at the sound of an airplane. Coming out of the SW over our neighborhood at about 1500' was the Collings Foundation's B-24 (I knew their Fort and Mustang were in the area). I tried to explain the honor to my children and neighbors: that out of 18,000 Libs built in WW2, that this was the only one still to fly.
My oldest daughter (9) seemed to get it, but no one else was moved quite like I was. Everyday, who and what remains of that era slips a little closer to the ether.
