Default Jack Horkheimer of Star Gazer, R.I.P.

Jack Horkheimer of the PBS show"Star Gazer" died yesterday.

Maybe some of you have occasionally come across his five minute program over the years. Although the graphics and script was sometimes unsophisticated, he introduced to many the wonders of the night sky that could be seen with the eye.

One of the delights of flying has been observing the heavens at night from the flight deck.

Jack, "Keep looking up!"

Sorry to hear that... I remember that show quite well from when I was a kid, and just happened to run across it again several months ago. I was amazed that it was still pretty much as I remembered, and I thought that was pretty neat.

The show might have been low budget but Horkheimer was enthusiastic and informative.

Yeah I lived near a PBS stations few years ago that played his spots. He brought astronomy to the masses and obviously didn't do it for the money. Nice little science show- too bad he's gone now.
