My phone keeps great time and has a calculator built in. Heck it even knows what time zone I am in when I dont. Although I do admit a little chrono envy at the guys who have the remote control function on their watch. Does the Iphone have an app for that?

BTW - Recent article in the Mooney Pilot's Association Rag (MAPA Log) where a Mooney driver with long range tanks (90 gal) successfully completed a cross country. i.e. San Diego to Savannah in about 12 hours. Obviously the stars and weather aligned and he was able to make it.

Assuming he landed with reserves, and flew a great circle route, that's an average of 160 knots on only 6.5 GPH (round numbers). I've got enough M20J time to find that hard to believe. Like you said though, if he got high with the wind and leaned the SH!T out of it, and flew max range the whole way...
