Flying on a ticket, do I say "hello"?

Interesting thread.
No rules, its pretty simple, If you are in a friendly mood say hello, if not who knows the difference?
In my Dad"s airline days two pilots from different airlines would see each other and enjoy breakfast together, today pilots from the same company won't even make eye contact when passing through the terminal.
Sadly while we wonder where respect for our profession has gone, some don't even show respect to each other.
W T F?

Unless you have appropriate qualifications and experience to adequately assist in flying the airplane, I'd resist offering your help to the crew before a flight. If something happens and the F/A's come running back shouting "can anyone fly a plane?!?!" then I know it's my time to shine

I do it if it's convenient...ie clear shot up the aisle and we are obviously not running late. I don't mind when someone says hi, and you never when you might need a hand.

So I am taking a little vacation with the family. With the loads as they have been lately, I bought full fare tickets.
Here's my question: do you want to know I am in the back. IOW, do I introduce myself?
My initial instinct was no, don't bother. However, after thinking about it for a bit, I figure it would be nice to know if there is someone somewhat knowledgeable in the back.
Thanks for your time,

I personally don't bother the flight crew if I'm on a ticket. I do generally try to introduce myself quickly to the lead flight attendant (or at least one of the cabin crew).
"Hi, I'm Josh. Just wanted to let you know that I'm a non-rev/pilot with ABC airlines/able bodied passenger/astronaut/military officer/FFDO/superhuman. I'm sitting in 8B- feel free to come and get me if you need any help. I might be snoring, so be sure to kick hard... "

I smile, make eye contact with the FA(s), say "hello" and maybe a "how are you guys doing today?" on my way to my seat.
Generally, if I'm on an airline flight, I'm in uniform (on a paid ticket, of course) and traveling either to or from the airplane. That means I'm either in a bad mood (going to work) or just tired (going home from work after an 8 or 10 day tour). So, I try to be as pleasant as possible...but I'm not going to poke my head in and bug anyone.
I'm sure the FAs can tell from the terribly tied black tie (I'm not so great at tying ties), the gold stripes, name tag, probably wings here shortly and the big tag on my bag that reads "CREW", that if they need someone they can wake me up. Other than that, I promise not to be any trouble. Just let me catch up on my sleep.
