And the elephant in the room is: What if the pilot dies?

With over 60 types flying there will be way this will fly. Add to it, the public will never go for it. Plus, who would reset the egg timer!

How about single engine airlines? I'm not talking PC-12s and Cessna Caravans. Theoretically you could build a 737 size airplane with one 777 sized engine and the fuel savings would be fantastic. One engine is more reliable than one pilot. You could even throw in a parachute system a la Cirrus to make it even more safe.

One BIG parachute or a whole sh!tl0@d of little parachutes? Either way it'd weigh a lot.

Better yet, have the pax wear their own. Since it's a carry-on, charge them $45.00.

How about they just let us fly the damn things in our underwear at home?

I'm good with that.

having flown embraer products i find it hilarious that they think their airplanes would ever be safe enough to be flown by one pilot.

If they allow single pilot, will they allow reading? What are you supposed to do locked in a closet for 4 hours by yourself? Pilots would be even more maladjusted and delusional.
