Boats
Any boaters out there? My heater failed and now I've got a Mercruiser 5.0 alpha one V-8 with a cracked block. The 25' Wellcraft is a 1995 model and I'm not sure whether to invest in replacement or scrap it and trade up. Also, do you know anything about donations for tax write offs? We're having a BAD DAY! Hope yours is better. Thanks...cheers

I grew up in a maritime family. My grandpa was a commercial fisherman for many years, my dad is an engineer on the state ferries, and I was an engineer/deckhand for a summer on tour boats.
At home we have an 18' Lund. It is a great boat, and can handle what the Southeast Alaska weather throws at us.

Donate it
See what you could get for it if you donate. I don't know if they will take the cracked block into account.
Unless you can get a cheap engine and know how to put it in that is gonna cost you big time in terms of fixing it or selling.
