You're right now that you mention it that gal sounds a lot like Patsy Cline! Here's something I never thought I'd catch myself saying...That accordion player is HOT!! Accordion players are usually big fat dudes in Leiderhosen (SP?) and green hats swilling beer and pumping out polkas.

Interesting mix of folks and and very good sound.

I LOVE Gillian Welch's music. Here is the amazing thing about her. After listening to her voice and her music I figured she was obviously a West Virgina coal country girl. WRONG...She's a California chick!

Obviously a very talented one but that sure surprised me.

My favorite rendition of the song "The Weight" by Gillian and friends. Check out the banjo the guy is playing, for those of you out there who now banjos that is neither a 4 string tenor or a 5 string picking banjo rather it's a 6 string which I've never seen or heard of.

I was in elementary school when the Vietnam war ended. Those clips brought me back to sitting in our living room watching that stuff on the nightly news.
