Seems that there is quite a bit of I-75 that runs very much East-West, especially at mile marker 29 around Opa Locka, FL

That 26 year old dude must do pretty damn well for himself. That Lance is N450JR - no doubt his initials, which means he probably owns it. He is an ATP with a helicopter rating as well. Aircraft is registered to JHR, LLC in Delaware (his initials too) and he was on his way down to FL to go on a cruise.
Either he is one hell of a go getter or was a trust fund baby with rich parents. Its hard to set up that kind of nest in so few years.

There is quite a bit of I-75 that runs very much in many directions... not unusual for any highway or interstate. But this is due to local considerations. I-75 is a North-South interstate and labeling it "eastbound" is not correct. The point is... be careful endorsing bogus media reports.

Based on the actual circumstances - he landed on eastbound lanes of I-75. IMO.

Ah, but the media is wrong on one account.
"The FAA is investigating the incident."
I'm wondering if he delayed putting the gear down or maybe just slammed it in that hard, since I can see the right main is bent rearward. Everything else looks good though, and you can see that the prop is still in good condition confirming engine stoppage.
