Got to take my first plane out for a spin!!!!
Gotta say, I'm not someone who gets excited very easily, but I was like a little kid at Christmas a few weeks ago. Got to fly a Cessna 182 Skylane ii....haven't been in a plane since second grade, but always been a passion of mine. I was lucky enough to have an awesome pilot let me take the yoke his plane!!!!! Just had to tell everyone I meet And no, I did NOT join the mile high club if anyone wants to know.
Regardless, my lifelong dream was reached in one day, so now I need a new goal. Apache?? Or, better yet, F-16??!

That's why we need to make GA more affordable. This zero to hero professional pilot crowd is really inflation-ridden due to the, perhaps accurate, perception that flying on your own dime and time is unaffordable, so pawning your livelihood to 'get to fly' seems more reasonable to the aspiring masses (which is just chopping your nose to spare your face).
May I suggest aero clubs and other discounted rental venues to go through your flight training. Part 61 will probably be the most affordable way to earn your rating, provided you allocate as full an attention per week as possible. Good luck!

Security is killing the industry. I hate to fly as a pax because of the degradations we have to go through. The bad guys have won.
As a kid, and lover of flying I had complete access to the ramp, remember riding my bike to corrosion corner at MIA, talking to the mechanics, climbing around aircraft and generally having a great time. Being around the C46's, DC3's through 7's etc and nobody telling me anything.
Now as a +20,000 hour widebody captain I don't think I can walk the ramp much less a young lad who wishes to be a pilot.

Congrats! I hope you can figure out a way to live the dream; it's WAY harder than it used to be. Still, somebody is going to be flying the big jets around 20 years from now, so it might as well be you.

Wheeee!! It's a lot of fun! Research some FBO's and find out what it will cost to get your Private License. I'm guessing around $8500. The more often you fly during training, chances are you'll get done faster, so build up that nest egg and go for it.
