Where to say hi....hmm
Well I've been coming to the site and lurking on the forums for several months now and finally have decided it might be fun to start actually posting as well (this was also brought on by my most recent flight instructing job and the painfully numbing hours of unpaid downtime). I'm sure everyone can relate to that! haha CFI's anyways.
I finished up at riddle a little whlie ago (little over a year) and have all my certs, just building time teaching out of LGB now and wanting desperately to move on to some "real" flying, not that 172's and PA-44's aren't real but you get what I'm saying.
Alright that'll be good for my little intro.
Blue skies,
Chris

Welcome!
Don't fool yourself into thinking that working as a CFI isn't real flying. I look back and think of how much I learned about flying and working with people during that time in my career. Way to many people view CFI work as a quick stepping stone and fail to gain some valuable (free) lessons for themselves.

Ah, no no thats not what I meant! lol I completely agree that being a CFI is a good op to learn alot about flying, and about yourself and not just how to communicate with other people. In the last year I've really grown I think because of it and have since become a better pilot myself. I'm just eager to get that seniority number and get my life in gear. It would be nice to have a set schdule for a change heh
and thanks for the hello!

I just cleaned out my storage room and found a bunch of my old CFI stuff from the old days. I have about 2000 hours as instructor from over 10 years ago. I found lots of cool stuff that brought back good memories (I block out the bad ones). It was a shame, but I threw it all out. I've been holding on to it for too long. I do miss the small planes. It's been 11 years since I've flown one. I'd like to take my kids up someday and show them that it's a lot different than riding in first class.

You'll be surprised after you get out of cessnas and pipers and start flying bigger airplanes for a living at how much you miss flying 'little' airplanes low and slow. Some of the most fun I have is going out tooling around in a 172.
